OIB Life Church (Ocean Isle Beach Life Church) was birthed in 2019 in coffee shops and restaurants in the Ocean Isle Beach area. Small group Bible studies were led by Rev. Travis Byrd. In March of 2020 the congregational worship services were launched at Brick Landing Events venue right before the Covid 19 pandemic shut down began. Sermons were delivered asynchronously each week until face-to-face meeting could resume. Mid-week Bible studies were conducted via online video conferencing. After the quarantine was lifted, Sunday worship services were held in a shopping center on Beach Rd for three Sunday mornings and at the Brick Landing site on one Sunday evening monthly. Eventually the congregation grew and began meeting every Sunday morning at the Brick Landing Events venue. Mid-week Bible studies were, and still are, held in homes. As of October 23, 2023, there have been 37 beach baptisms with even more ready to share their new birth in Christ with the world. OIB Life Church is grateful and thankful for the support given by the Brunswick Baptist Association, North Carolina Baptist Church Planting, and the North American Mission Board.
